AEPC Computer Facility Program Creation of a computer facility for one of the largest utility corporations in the United States Challenges To ensure the security of the highly sophisticated computer operation To create an impenetrable concrete box, but be visually unforbidding and unboxlike. This was achieved with a delicate aluminum facing over one foot thick concrete walls The design of the building exterior thus devolved to a studio exercise on composition using sleek, sophisticated and intricate machine made materials, reflecting in the building the qualities of the computers it houses |
