Consultants to RSA provided civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and cost estimating services		 Hackensack Middle School

Program
Two story addition to the existing building providing twenty-three classrooms, two resource rooms, art room, music room, cafeteria, and administrative offices

Installation of a new elevator to provide handicap access to all floors of the existing and new buildings

Challenges
Design of a sophisticated ramp and stair system to bridge the difference in floor heights between the existing building and the addition, while allowing the elevator in the new addition to serve all three floors of the existing building

Enclosure of an extremely simple and economical plan within a refined and varied facade
