Elizabeth Fire Headquarters

Program
New three-story building to house three full-time fire fighting companies and a full-time rescue company.

The building also houses the department's administrative and fire dispatch functions, fire prevention, training, and credit union offices.

Challenges
The tight, narrow, urban site led to a three-floor design scheme with firefighter activities on the first and second floor, and offices on the third floor.

Economy was achieved by creating a "half" second floor flanking the required double height apparatus space.
